Density

 LI: Observe how an egg reacts in fresh vs salt water to understand the concept of density.

1. Explain what we did. 

first we put water in a jar then we put the egg in the jar and it sunk after the egg we put salt and then the egg floated. 

2. Why did the egg float in salt water?

Because the salt water has more density.

Reflection: I enjoyed writing these poems although I thought it was quite tricky to think of words to describe. 

2020 olympics

         WALT-Use data to create a bar graph that shows the top 13 medal winning countries at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

REFLECTION - 
I liked colouring in the graphs. I found interesting of how much medals there are.

camera angles

 WALT- Refresh our knowledge around camera angles. Analyse how we use camera angles in different situations in our films.

Reflection: We ruled lines on the smaller picture then used the grid as a guide to enlarge our pictures. I choose Tamone for the Lion King.

celebration assembly

 WALT- celebrate matariki 

reflection - We had a celebration at school. I pou was unveiled in the morning then we had a celebration assembly. I helped make the props for our production of how Maui discovered fire. I wish I had more time to learn my lines. I had to take Luka's. I enjoyed watching the other classes plays. 

Building rockets

WALT - Use a planning template to structure an instructional text Write in correct sentences Write instructions for rocket building and launching for others to follow. Reflection: We learnt about Newton's laws of motion with Maki. We built rockets and then we launched them. I think it is interesting that things can fly.

My Speech

WALT - Write a persuasive speech that encourages the listener to agree with my opinion.

Reflection - What I thought was hard was filiming., I didn't get mine done because people were talking too much. 

2D Shapes

 WALT- Right angels, Irregular / regular shapes, Quadrilaterals, Symmetry, Parallel Lines, properties of 2D Shapes.

Te Reo greetings and farewells

 WALT - write and say Te Reo Maori greetings and farewells 

Reflection We are learning to learn Te Reo maori. I think it is hard to remember all the new words.

Hoani Kotuku

 WALT  read to gather information and write to share key facts.

Reflection: By doing this mahi have learnt that Kotuk in Maori means white heron. I think it is interesting that the kotuku have long sharp beaks that help them eat. 

 Whakapapa - ask our whanau all about my whakapapa, use the information to complete them template.
